Richard Johnson, Director in JLL’s Industrial and Logistics team in Manchester, sets out the benefits of the Port Cheshire site.
I’ve worked for more than 12 years in the North West market, acting for a wide and diverse range of clients, providing advice industrial development schemes. It’s rare to be faced with such an exciting opportunity as Port Cheshire.
There are two main factors that make it unique. The first is that it’s one of the few true multi-modal sites in the North West, thanks to its connections to motorways, a rail head and Manchester Ship Canal. The second is that because of its scale it’s the only site in the region with detailed planning consent to accommodate a single building up to 1m sq ft. Also, port-related permits are in place allowing for immediate development for specific uses.
The facts, figures and images speak for themselves. But there’s still nothing to compare with actually getting on the ground. That’s why we worked with Peel Ports and the joint letting agents B8RE to host an event recently on the site. The purpose was to give around 40 key property agents the opportunity to have a proper look around and give them a presentation on the potential benefits of the site.
Peel Ports is also offering exceptional flexibility in how the site is used and that was important for us to talk about too, including design and build, plot sales, leasehold or freehold.
Despite challenging circumstances in recent years, it’s clear the economy of the North West is still thriving. Port Cheshire remains an ideal location for businesses looking for a centrally-located opportunity.
